Andrew Hawkins sought Sean McVay’s help before he played in NFL

Former Cincinnati Bengals receiver Andrew Hawkins shared a years-old Facebook chat via Twitter that fans can appreciate. He hadn't been signed by the St. Louis Rams yet or played for the Bengals, and he was ironically reaching out for help from Sean McVay, the current head coach of the Rams and a Miami University graduate and former RedHawks receiver. From @Hawk: The now 31-year-old McVay was a tight ends coach for the UFL's Florida Tuskers in 2009, and became an assistant for the Washington Redskins in 2010. He was promoted to offensive coordinator for the Redskins and remained with the team until 2016, before he became the Rams' head coach. The now 31-year-old Hawkins played for the CFL's Montreal Alouettes in 2009 and 2010 before signing with the Rams in 2011. The Bengals claimed him off waivers in August of 2011, and he became a fan favorite for the team until 2013 before he left for the Cleveland Browns. Earlier this year, he earned a 4.0 GPA on his way to a master's degree in sports management from Columbia University.
