A gyroball is a type of pitch in baseball that is thrown with a specific spin that causes it to curve sharply downward as it approaches the batter.
The gyroball was first developed by Japanese pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka in the early 2000s. It has since been adopted by a number of other pitchers, including R.A. Dickey and Marcus Stroman.
